Community organizing

Training young leaders to make their community’s voice heard.

Our approach

YMPJ works to ensure that marginalized communities can coordinate to make their voices heard. We train volunteer youth leaders through its Community Organizing Leadership Academy (COLA). These volunteers work to influence local government by utilizing the principles of advocacy and increasing awareness about critical community issues.

Over the years, youth residents have led campaigns for environmental justice, police reform, tenant rights and youth employment, and organized for education and immigration reform.

Where organizing happens

Become a youth leader

Young people can join our organizing programs and learn to lead campaigns in their own neighborhood.
